Summer is a season when planted seeds begin to flourish, and we are seeing that same reality at BRPC.

Through your faithful partnership, lives are being saved and nurtured, families are being strengthened, and hearts are being drawn to Christ. Every prayer offered, volunteer hour given, and financial gift invested helps cultivate hope and healing for those facing unplanned pregnancies and difficult life circumstances.

As a result of your continued support, we are preparing to expand our life-saving reach and look forward to sharing more details with you in the coming months. As God leads us to put down roots in the underserved area of Danville, VA, we are grateful to watch His work continue to grow and bear lasting fruit. We believe this next step will allow us to reach even more women, men, and families with the truth, compassion, and practical support they need to choose life.

So far in 2026, the Lord has allowed us to intervene in the lives of a record number of women and men seeking abortion. Through compassionate care and the truth of the Gospel, we have been privileged to empower many to choose life. Each life saved is a powerful reminder of the eternal impact of the ministry you make possible through your partnership.

As the abortion pill remains widely accessible, we are grateful to stand in the gap for women experiencing serious physical, emotional, and spiritual challenges. We continue to walk alongside them, connecting them with life-saving medical intervention and offering opportunities for healing for both women and men through our post-abortion recovery and care program, “Unhindered.”

Because the need for our services remains great, we humbly ask that you continue providing the financial, volunteer, and prayer support necessary to help us save lives throughout Central Virginia – especially as we prepare to expand. Your partnership is needed now more than ever.

Thank you for your generous support and faithful prayers that make it possible for us to save both preborn and adult lives – for now and for eternity.

United with you in Christ for abundant LIFE,
Jane Oliver, Executive Director

Virginia Pro-Abortion Amendment

Help us stop unlimited abortion in Virginia.

Virginia is already the most pro-abortion state in the South with virtually zero protection for preborn babies. On top of that, an Abortion Amendment is in process that would enshrine “reproductive rights” into the state constitution. This is a major threat to Pregnancy Centers like us. If the amendment passes, it could easily be interpreted to mean that centers that don’t offer abortion services are “denying, burdening, or infringing” on the rights of Virginia citizens. We would be exposed to legal threats that could hamper or even stop our ability to minister to women and babies in our communities. The Family Foundation writes:

“If passed, the no-guardrails abortion amendment would legalize abortion up to birth, erase parental consent, and stop reasonable safety standards.”

The language in the amendment is intentionally deceptive, leaving the voter to believe that if they vote “NO,” they will deprive women of all reproductive care, including miscarriage management. Miscarriage management is not an abortion, which is why this language is so dangerous and deceptive. To learn the truth about the abortion amendment and its potential consequences, please visit brpcfriends.org/stopabortionva.

Client Story Highlight

When Sophia (name changed for patient privacy) reached out to our center at 7:00 a.m., she had an abortion appointment scheduled for later that same morning.

Encouraged by a friend, she decided to visit us before making her final decision.

During her appointment, Sophia shared that she was facing a complicated living situation and felt overwhelmed by the circumstances surrounding her pregnancy. She also revealed that she had never fully healed from a previous abortion, a decision that had left her carrying feelings of grief, guilt, and depression for years.

As Sophia talked with her advocate, they discussed her relationships, her support system, and the practical resources available to help her move forward. They talked about housing options, community support, and our Pregnancy Foundations classes. For the first time in a long time, Sophia was able to consider a future that included both her and her baby.

During the appointment, Sophia was experiencing pain and was referred to the ER. Thankfully, she received good news: she and her baby were healthy, and she was expecting a boy.

The next day, Sophia returned for an ultrasound and learned she was already 25 weeks pregnant. With the support of our team and community partners, she chose life for her son, enrolled in our Pregnancy Foundations class, and began connecting with resources for housing, insurance, and other practical needs.

What began as a morning headed toward abortion became the beginning of a new chapter filled with hope, support, and a community ready to walk alongside Sophia as she prepares to welcome her baby boy.

Volunteer Highlight: Sacha Layman

Judy Taylor

Meet Sacha Layman! Sacha and her husband Kevin have been part of the Lynchburg community for 21 years with their two children, Carson, now a college student, and Ava, a senior in high school. Sacha’s background is in nursing and she continues to work as a Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Nursery at Centra Virginia Baptist Hospital.

When Sacha and her husband moved to Lynchburg, she sought out volunteer opportunities and became connected with BRPC. Sacha has been volunteering at BRPC on and off for 19 years now! She began helping out with the baby boutique, led Bible studies for couples through the Center, and later worked as a volunteer nurse performing lab grade pregnancy tests. About four years ago, Sacha began teaching Pregnancy Foundations classes for the Life Center, a role she continues to this day. Sacha is one of our longest serving volunteers, and her commitment to life and passion for mother/baby care are such a gift to the families we serve.

Sacha shared how teaching at the Life Center has become such a blessing for her. Even though getting used to teaching parents in a classroom environment was an adjustment and a new challenge, she saw it as an opportunity to grow and become comfortable in that skill set and also remember that this is the Lord’s ministry – He will speak through her. Each class, the clients come with different needs, and Sacha trusts God to guide her teaching as she informs and encourages through her own vocational experience. Sacha is passionate about creating a collaborative environment in the classroom, encouraging both the mentors and the parents (many of whom are expecting a second or even a fourth child!) to share advice and encouragement. And, the reward and fruit of seeing the clients connect with each other, with mentors, and with local churches is tremendous. Many parents have shared with Sacha how much the classes helped them and how they felt so much more knowledgeable and empowered in their pregnancy and early parenthood journeys.

If there’s any interest at all in volunteering, don’t hesitate to jump in. It’s the body of Christ working together, seeing people offer their giftings and experiences to bless the clients, and seeing the Lord work through that offering. Sharing your knowledge with these families has a direct impact on them and helps them feel equipped and empowered for this big life change. Pregnancy Foundations Classes give them accessibility to pregnancy education and information, practical needs like diapers and baby clothes, and also relationships with each other, the mentors, and church partnerships. Serving at the Life Center is an easy way to make a direct impact. Being a life-giving ministry is not just about protecting the unborn, but also supporting those that have chosen life. This is one way we can be that support for them moving forward, with God at the center, orchestrating these divine appointments.

Men's Ministry Update

From Landry Coleman, Men's Services Director

Noble Pursuit Podcast Episode 4: Childhood Wounds, True Healing, and Connecting With Our Kids (Jerrad Lopes)

At Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center, we are passionate about equipping men with the tools they need to become the fathers God has called them to be. That’s why, in May, we launched an exciting new project: the Noble Pursuit Podcast.

One thing I’ve seen time and again is that many men genuinely want to be good fathers, but they just don’t know where to start. Some grew up without a strong father figure in their own lives, while others simply lack the encouragement and guidance needed to step confidently into their role.

The Noble Pursuit Podcast was created to meet that need.

Through honest conversations with fathers, authors, ministry leaders, and other influential voices, the podcast encourages men to be present, intentional, and faithful in their homes. Each guest offers practical wisdom, Biblical insight, and real life examples of what Godly fatherhood looks like in today’s world.

Our goal is simple: to champion and equip men in their journey toward purposeful manhood and authentic fatherhood.

Since launching, I’ve had the privilege of interviewing some incredible guests, including Sean Corcoran, CEO of Men for Life, Jerrad Lopes of Dad Tired, and Dr. William Lile, known to many as “The ProLife Doc.” Each conversation has provided valuable encouragement and practical tools to help men navigate both the challenges and joys of fatherhood.

It is my prayer that the Noble Pursuit Podcast will serve as a trusted resource that points men toward Christ, strengthens families, and equips fathers to lead well at home.

Life Center Update

Every diaper, wipe, and baby item tells a family, “You are seen, supported, and cared for.”

So far this year, our Life Center has served 101 women and 60 men, providing more than 1,300 baby boutique items, 738 diapers, and 683 packages of wipes. That’s over $20,000 worth of baby essentials. This is possible because of YOU and your constant support.

As we welcome more families into our classes and continue providing layette bags and other practical resources, our shelves constantly need replenished. We invite you to partner with us by donating diapers, wipes, and new baby items so that together, we can continue meeting tangible needs and supporting families in our community. Click below to shop our Amazon registry and/or give to our diaper fund.

Because of your generosity, families in our community are receiving hope, education, and encouragement during pregnancy and early parenthood. Below are a few words from parents whose lives you’re helping to impact. Thank you for empowering life decisions through material support!

I felt very supported. We love the benefits but also that it made me feel less anxious and less alone in pregnancy and as a woman.

You will never leave empty handed and EVERYTHING is free. They did my 8 week ultrasound here and they gave me a ton of pictures and videos of our baby. Their pregnancy and birth classes are super helpful.

We are still shocked this program is free.
