About the Speakers

Samuel green

Samuel Green is the President & General Counsel of Reason for Life, a ministry working to end abortion in America. Samuel has preached pro-life sermons at churches around the country, promoted life on the radio and in published articles, and authored a supporting legal brief in the U.S. Supreme Court case that overturned Roe v. Wade. Prior to founding Reason for Life, Samuel served as an attorney at Alliance Defending Freedom.

Dave R. Paulus, MD

Dr. Dave Paulus retired three years ago after 40 years of family practice in Iowa and Nebraska before coming to Virginia. Together with his wife Joan, he has four kids and seven grandchildren, six of whom live in Lynchburg. Dr. Paulus loves volunteering as a men’s advocate for BRPC and also loves doing a lot of babysitting. He has been giving the When Does Life Begin? talk from a medical perspective for the last two years.

Sheila M. Furey, MD

Dr. Sheila Furey is a Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist, specialing in the diagnostic evaluation and treatment of children with learning disabilities. She is an advocate for medical freedom in VA.

Rev. Thomas donovan

Rev. Thomas Donovan has been involved in the Right-to-Life Movement for over 30 years. He has been involved in various capacities over this time; certified sidewalk counselor, support for local politicians, volunteer and board member of Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center, a local pastor, and a teacher. Thomas works full-time at Liberty Christian Academy in Lynchburg, VA as Bible Department Chair and Bible teacher teaching Worldview and Ethics. One aspect of his teaching is to equip his students on how to engage the culture on the issue of abortion (and other ethical issues) successfully, using science and philosophy with the love, grace, mercy, and respect of the Gospel.

Teresa Pregnall

Teresa Pregnall is the Virgina State Director of Concerned Women for America (CWA). Her involvement with CWA started several years ago when she became active in a local CWA Prayer/Action Chapter. Teresa was drawn to CWA because of their balanced emphasis on education, prayer, and action. She works hard as an adovacte for Life.
