Sanctity of Human Life
What is Sanctity of Human Life Sunday?
Sanctity of Human Life Sunday (SOHLS) is an annual observance, typically the third Sunday in January, where churches and pro-life groups focus on celebrating the value of all human life, from conception to natural death, often marked by prayer, education, and advocacy against abortion, stemming from President Reagan’s 1984 proclamation marking the anniversary of Roe v. Wade. It’s a day for believers to reaffirm commitment to protecting the unborn and vulnerable, supporting pregnancy centers, and promoting a culture that values every life.

Ways to Partner with Blue Ridge Pregnancy Center
How exactly does partnering with BRPC help make an eternal difference in our community? Your partnership bridges the gap between our clients and the local church. This is a unique opportunity to live out both The Great Commission (Matt 28:16-20) and The Great Commandment (Matt 22:36-40) by engaging with individuals who may never otherwise walk through the doors of a church.
Your partnership, whether through prayer, volunteering, or financial partnership, truly makes an incredible difference. Thank you!
Baby Bottle Campaign
Give out baby bottles to your congregation to collect change. Every dollar can help save a life. Reach out to Cheryl Cunningham at cheryl@blueridgepc.org for more information and to get started.
Mentoring
Mentor a Pregnancy & Parenting Foundations (PPF) class or serve through One-on-One Mentoring. Each PPF class runs for six weeks – our primary goal is to connect mentors from your church with our clients to build meaningful relationships. We are also in need of one-on-one mentors for both moms and dads. Email Pamela at pam@blueridgepc.org for more information.
Send us advocates
Encourage members of your congregation to serve as Patient Advocates. These volunteers meet with patients one-on-one, asses their needs, and share the hope of the Gospel. Email Julie at julie@blueridgepc.org for more information and training dates.
Other Giving Opportunities
in-kind donations
Whether it’s diapers and wipes or blankets and books, we’re always in need of items for our Baby Boutique. This is one way we can generously bless and meet some of the physical needs of our patients who courageously choose life for their little ones.
Please note: Because the baby items in our Boutique are used as gifts for patients, we accept donations of new items only. We do NOT accept cribs, strollers, car seats, pack and plays, or bassinets because we do not have the space to store them. If you have used items or the previously listed items you’d like to donate, please consider donating them to either the Agape Center or to Mission Thrift.
Current needs of our Baby Boutique include:
- Wipes
- Diapers sizes 3-5
A great way to give is to donate to our Diaper Fund. These funds are used to purchase diapers and wipes from EveryLife, the nation’s only faith-based, pro-life diaper company committed to providing premium products for every baby. Click below to donate to our diaper fund and set up one-time or recurring giving.
We’ve also made it easy to shop our Amazon Baby Registry! The items you purchase will then ship directly to our pregnancy center. Please note the “must have” items, as these are high priority items for our center.
financial support
We are a 501c3 faith-based non-profit in the state of Virginia. The majority of our funding comes from the financial partnerships of individuals, churches, and businesses in our community. Your gift goes to helping families learn the truth about their options, empowering them to choose life for their children.
100% of donations are tax-deductible. Would you consider a one-time gift or become a monthly supporter?
